extensions installed but not availableHi,
On a 7.2 Release i've built OpenOffice 3.1 and it's extension manager now recognises and installs dictionaries - or so it says. But when you go into the OpenOffice character property to set the language, none of the installed dictionaries display in the selection list as installed - and of course no spell checking happens. Is it a known problem ? If not a known/resolved problem, beyond listing the installed versions & packages, is there any useful feedback I could dig up? _______________________________________________ freebsd-openoffice@... mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-openoffice To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-openoffice-unsubscribe@..." |

Re: extensions installed but not availableHi Kris,
Looks like "bad transfer url" problem. I assume you are using the newest version, does it still exist for you? If exists, how about on FBSD 8 (BETA1)? Re: extensions installed but not availableHi all,
I'm using 8-CURRENT amd64, which is "8.0-BETA2 #0 r196050" at the moment, with fresh ports tree there is no such problem as dreaded "bad transfer url" with 3, 3RC and 3 devel, however each version of OOo spews xkbcom error on root console, and core dumps upon exit If there is any openoffice dotfile. > Warning: Duplicate shape name "" > Using last definition > Warning: Duplicate shape name "" > Using last definition > Warning: Multiple doodads named "" > Using first definition > Warning: Multiple doodads named "" > Using first definition > Warning: Multiple doodads named "" > Using first definition > Warning: Multiple doodads named "" > Using first definition Similar problem observed under Arch Linux: http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=71483 -best regards, Jakub Lach PS. Thanks for updating boost-lib dependancy lately, and earlier commiting patch dealing with 'bad transfer url' to ports tree, it fixed this error for me.

Re: extensions installed but not availableI'm using all the latest OpenOffice 3 versions from ports, but on FreeBSD 7.2-Stable. I don't see any "bad tranfer url" error, and installing dictionaries works fine, its when installing template packages and other extensions that we ran across this directory bug. It almost seems as if OO is creating the wrong directories during install of the extensions. -- Kris Moore PC-BSD Software On Tue, 11 Aug 2009, Maho NAKATA wrote: > Hi Kris, > > Looks like "bad transfer url" problem. > I assume you are using the newest version, does it still exist for you? > If exists, how about on FBSD 8 (BETA1)? > Thanks > > From: Kris Moore <kris@...> > Subject: Re: extensions installed but not available > Date: Mon, 10 Aug 2009 08:57:15 -0400 (EDT) > >> >> >> You may want to take a look at this PR. Re: extensions installed but not availableHi Kris,
Hope this is an error of extension. ALSO, ON WHICH 7-STABLE YOU BUILD OOO IS VERY IMPORTANT. So, could you please check your FBSD version? The behaviour of bridge part is quite different later than FreeBSD 702104 (2009/7/14) (see http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en/books/porters-handbook/book.html; actually ld.so fix has been introduced between 702103 - 702104). So if you are using 702104, 5 ... and build ooo on the same version, and if it works, then I'm very happy that ld.so fix is ok. I think old binaries should work on late 7-STABLE, of course. So, could you please check your FBSD version? Re: extensions installed but not availableIt seems to occur with any Template extension, and these are the "Official" ones created by Sun, so I'm pretty sure the issue isn't the extension itself. The workaround is very simple, which just makes me think something on FBSD is setting the home profile paths incorrectly during the extraction of the template packages. -- Kris Moore PC-BSD Software On Wed, 12 Aug 2009, Maho NAKATA wrote: > Hi Jakub and Kris, > > Doh :-( > I have to look at it more seriously... > > From: Jakub Lach <jakub_lach@...> > Subject: Re: extensions installed but not available > Date: Tue, 11 Aug 2009 16:51:19 -0700 (PDT) > >> >> Hello again. >> >> Same problem as described by Kris Moore in >> >> http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=ports/136753 >> >> appears here also, tested with >> >> http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/SunTemplatepack_1 >> >> Enviroment: OOo 3.2.0, FreeBSD 8.0-BETA2 #0 r196050 amd64. >> >> -best regards, >> Jakub Lach >> >> >> >> Maho NAKATA wrote: >>> >>> Hi Kris, >>> >>> As I see http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=ports/136753 >>> your environment is >>> >>>> FreeBSD pcbsd 7.2-STABLE FreeBSD 7.2-STABLE #11: Wed Jun 24 18:36:21 EDT >>>> 2009 >>>> root@...:/usr/obj/pcbsd-build72/cvs/7.2-src/sys/PCBSD >>>> i386 >>> . Re: extensions installed but not availableHi Kris and Jakub
I cannot reproduce your error... could you please describe more precisely? Here is what I did: * install ja-openoffice.org-3.1.0_2 on FreeBSD 7.2/amd64 * download templates http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/SunTemplatepack_1 % rm -rf ~/.openoffice.org* % openoffice.org-3.1.0 welcome message and registration step. (following menu selections might not be correct because I'm using a Japanese version) thenk, Menu -> Tools -> extension manager -> Add -> Sun_ODF_Template_Pack2_en-US.oxt -> Open (-> license agreement) -> Ok -> Close Menu -> File -> Templates and Documents * error message pop up! No such direcotry /home/maho/.openoffice.org/3/user/template -> it pops up several times, and pressing ok is enough -> You can select all documents. Re: extensions installed but not availableHello.
This is scrot after installing extension and selecting ``Elegant Invoice". (1440x900) http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/8419/200908170402051440x900s.png Hope this helps. To be honest, since it can be omitted via symlinking, core dumping upon exit is more annoying for me. (And I never really have used extensions beside dictionaries, that is.) -best regards, Jakub Lach

Re: extensions installed but not availableThat screenshot is pretty much the identical error I get. The template extensions install properly, but when you go to use them, that error pops up, simply using the wrong path. The sym-link does fix the issue, which makes me think its gotta be a simple fix in OO, looking at wrong pathname for installed extension data. -- Kris Moore PC-BSD Software On Sun, 16 Aug 2009, Jakub Lach wrote: > > Hello. > > This is scrot after installing extension and > selecting ``Elegant Invoice". > > (1440x900) > > http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/8419/200908170402051440x900s.png > > Hope this helps.
