Hallo Liste,

ich starte gerade ein neues Projekt, in dem es langfristig darum geht
eine Community mit Typo3 aufzubauen.
Es gibt wie immer hier sehr viele Extensions die dafür potentiell
interessant werden.
Was könnt ihr empfehlen?
Gibt es ein Buch oder Tutorial, das mir hier mit Erklärungen
weiterhelfen kann?
Kennt ihr eine Internetseite die mit Typo3 eine Online-Community
aufgebaut hat?

beste Grüße

Ron

Hello Ron,

switch your language, and wrong naming :-) TYPO3 in big letters.

Because of online-communities you can look for a book what talks about
chc_forum / Zach Davis. He wrote many extensions what can be used for a
community-site. They're not updated since the last two years, but they
can be used, because he wrote good code.

Cheers!
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Excuse me for catching the wrong language with my last mail.
Thanks a lot for the tip. I will play around with chc_forum a bit.

greetings

Ron

rumors say, that chc_forum can't deal with big forums as it's getting
very slow then. Zach tried to work on it, but I don't know if he was
successful in speeding up chc_forum.
mm_forum may not be coded that good, but it can for sure deal with big
forums/communitys - but it's not perfect either (but at least still in
active development).

Hi,

cwt_community for me also looks very promising. Any experience with this
one? It seems to be a good basis with option to add more functionality
if needed.

greetings

Ron

Hey people,

I was looking for community features and a forum as well last month. I
looked into cwt_community, but didn't like the style (well, there is
this whole gallery stuff, I didn't want). I also looked into chc_forum
and mm_forum, choosing mm_forum because it looked maintained in a better
way. It also offers registration (no sr_feuser_register anymore), and
private messaging.

I tried to get cwt_community working with mm_forum, but it did not work
out. I now created extensions that add community features (buddylist,
guestbook) to mm_forum, also some rating and tagging functionality
within mm_forum.

I needed to adpot mm_forum a bit, and also wanted to make mm_forum a
nice code base, but never got an answer from the mm_forum development
team (this was only last week though).

Just my 2 cents here.
benni.

Hi Ingo, Hi List,

this looks pretty cool. Probably a better way than cwt_community. Has
anyone already tried to work with this extension in the current state of
development? Any experiences?

greetings

Ron
