file sorting of Linux samba directory from Windows Vista

Hi,

When listing a directory from a Linux samba directory in a DOS prompt,
with the DOS command "dir" (or "dir /b /n"), the sorting is completely
messed up, compared to the same command called on a local directory.  Is
this something that is under control from samba, or is it completely
on the Windows side?  Thanks.

Cheers,

Samba doesn't sort directory listings (think of what
that would cost with a 100,000 file directory).
