final woodstock 4.2 release?Maybe I am not reading the right forums or mailing lists, but I would really like to know the progress about deploying the final woodstock 4.2 release with fixes for FF3.
Downgrading from 4.3 to 4.2 I have also found a big issue about autocomplete fields in 4.2, which overlaps the text field and doesn't react to key presses at times. Are there dates we can rely on? No news is bad news in this case. I am also studying the icefaces framework; it's quite good, but it lacks a something that I use very much in woodstock, that is the possibility to $(id).refresh() just the components I want and not the entire page. This is a big issue in my opinion, refer to woodstock to icefaces migration forum on icefaces site to read about it. I really hope some progress will be achieved soon thanks Mauro |

Re: final woodstock 4.2 release?Ciao,
I suggest you to change the framework, if you are still on time. The developement of Woodstock has been a big "botta sui denti" for me... Re: final woodstock 4.2 release? We're already in production since october, and porting to Icefaces will take weeks if not months.
Sun please give us a word about this.

Re: final woodstock 4.2 release? For new projects I suggest RichFaces. It supports partial refresh with the reRender attribute. I think it's better than ICEFaces...

Re: final woodstock 4.2 release?I totally agree. I have a product in production and I can now only
support FF2 and am getting flack about when FF3 will be supported. Changing to Icefaces is a many month process for me. autozoom wrote: > Maybe I am not reading the right forums or mailing lists, but I would really > like to know the progress about deploying the final woodstock 4.2 release > with fixes for FF3. > Downgrading from 4.3 to 4.2 I have also found a big issue about autocomplete > fields in 4.2, which overlaps the text field and doesn't react to key > presses at times. > > Are there dates we can rely on? Re: final woodstock 4.2 release?Hi all,
I've been using woodstock 4.1 without problems on FF2 and FF3 and IE. Perhaps it would help you to downgrade a further step down? That is of course if the feature set of 4.1 is sufficient. Re: final woodstock 4.2 release? If I am not wrong, 4.1 didn't have ajax features, autocomplete and so on...
it's a little bit too old for my requirements And honestly I think that developers who trust a big company like Sun, deserve at least the minimum support to make their project live for a little bit more than a couple of months.

RE: final woodstock 4.2 release?I agree, in principal.
But tell that to their investors http://finance.google.com/finance?q=NASDAQ:JAVA Sun is a publically traded company, after all Alex Sherwin alex.sherwin@... -----Original Message----- From: Stephan Bardubitzki [mailto:stephan@...] Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2009 1:12 PM To: users@... Now, that the decision was made to drop Woodstock just open source it and throw the ball to the community to fix the bugs. Re: final woodstock 4.2 release?Don't get me wrong. Sun is for me the most innovative IT company there
is. And it is dear to my heart that the get back to profitability as soon as possible. And I'm sure they will with the products and services in there portfolio. Dropping a product it reasonable, but IMO the support has to continue. The community and I have asked Sun since about June '08 to clarify the future of Woodstock, but no response for months. And that is what brought my on business at risk. Re: final woodstock 4.2 release? Still waiting to hear some inputCustomers are pressuring us for FF3 support. FF2 keeps coming up with
the option to upgrade and one slip and our apps no longer work. Something as fundamental as a tree component (used for navigation) does not respond to any input at all :( Since that is the launching point for the other pages it is a major show stopper. autozoom wrote: > Maybe I am not reading the right forums or mailing lists, but I would really > like to know the progress about deploying the final woodstock 4.2 release > with fixes for FF3. > Downgrading from 4.3 to 4.2 I have also found a big issue about autocomplete > fields in 4.2, which overlaps the text field and doesn't react to key > presses at times. > > Are there dates we can rely on?
