I have added the other two related directly to FreeBSD. I'm not sure
386BSD and 4.4 is relevant for FreeBSD Handbook.

bg.freebsd.org on the road again

Hi all,
After a very long outage (health and work-related stuff) bg.freebsd.org is
slowly rising into it's
former glory. Server has been powered up again at it's old location. Thanks
to Faculty of Mathematics and
Informatics at Sofia University for the goodness of hosting us.
Waiting for confirmation of the new ip range and will update the
bg.freebsd.org zone.
ns1.bg.freebsd.org is still reachable but no any services are running
currently as ip range is about to be defined.

I've been ready to offer it for the past five years, but my upstream
still doesn't support v6. (When you have a /8, the motivation to
actually prepare for the transition is somewhat attenuated....)

Me too ;-)

The problem started (for me) a few month ago.

I see the "Checksum mismatch" messages as well. Sometimes two
or three, sometimes 100 or more, sometimes none.

I used CVSup for years. I tried csup, nothing changed. I switched
servers I CVSup from, even tried cvsup.freebsd.org. I tried
compressing and non-compressing mode.

Like John, I only see the problem on src, not elsewhere.

Any ideas?

cvsup17.freebsd.org/cvsup17.us.freebsd.org should be behaving better
now. Looks like a combination of a ton of "Checksum mismatch" errors
with some network issues caused it to fail before doing complete
updates. As of this morning, it's been getting successful updates from
cvsup-master.

I send this message again, because my alias has changed from ftp2 to ftp3 (This is already stable).
ftp2 returned to ftp.iem.pw.edu.pl.
and now my server has ftp3 and www3.
Please change IPv4 and IPv6 alias on www.freebsd.org (website mirror list) from www2 to www3.
and please move this line (ftp / ftpv6 / http / httpv6 / rsync / rsyncv6) in ftp list from ftp2 to ftp3.
I can't see ftp3.pl in sysinstall, if possible please add this.

Oh, and yes I did forget :-).

It should be working now (currently allowing 5 IPv6 cvsupd connections
at a time).

He, that's actually ncvsup.FreeBSD.org. I suspect that just got an
IPv6 adress with the rest of the Y! FreeBSD.org systems and nobody
remembered to to hack up netcat :-). We do use netcat on
cvsup-master.freebsd.org so it's a simple copy/paste fix.

I will try to remember to fix that over the weekend. When I forget,
feel free to poke me.

Removing older releases...

Sorry for the delay on this, I should have done it a while ago.

I'll be removing the FreeBSD 7.1-RELEASE bits (FTP install and package
sets) from ftp-master on Tuesday Oct. 6th 2009. If you like to keep
pieces of older releases please make any adjustments you'll need. I'll
also remove the 7.0 ISO files, I've been leaving two releases' worth of
those per branch on ftp-master lately.

Could you please allow the main FreeBSD mirror from Brazil to sync to the
main FreeBSD mirros. Actually we are syncing from
ftp1.us.FreeBSD.org<http://ftp1.us.freebsd.org/>,
but this mirror is not totally up to date.
As follows below our mirror information, we provide http, ftp, rsync and
cvsup access.

I do it very simple, without any script - just with an apache alias
definition:

Alias /pub /ftp/pub/
<Directory /ftp/pub>

ftp7.de.freebsd.org does it for about 15 years ...

Back then it was a little CGI program that I wrote in C.
It ran under Apache and produced directory listings
with download links for http, ftp and mail, and other
useful things.

I'm not an admin at that site anymore, and that CGI is
long gone, but http access is still there, of course.
