friendsd protocol

Good afternoon
Where can I find documentation on the protocol that gpsdrive uses to
communicate with friendsd? I understand that it is UDP on port 50123,
but what is the format of the packets? I ask because I am interested
in communicating with friendsd from other applications, maybe writing
something to run on a mobile phone and report the location to friendsd
so that it can then be viewed in gpsdrive.

the format is very simple.
just have a look at friends.c or friendsd.c in the gpsdrive source.
