getting airport to work...

After many hours of trying different ifconfig parameters, I am stuck  
with the following settings. As you can see the adapter is running in  
adhoc mode. I can't figure out how to switch it to infrastructure mode  
or even hostap mode.
This airport adapter works fine in mac os 10.4.
