github pear channel

Hi.

There was some discussion on github almost a year ago, about how
github could provide pear channel(s) for php projects there. Was any
of the people on this list involved, and why didn't anything happen?

I'm not sure exactly how and why it died off originally.

But I just talked to one of the github folks and it looks like that
currently they are not looking to to host anything like a channel.
From what I can tell their gem experience hasn't been too great and
that seems to be one of the reasons why this didn't happen.

Anyway, I can update this thread if I know more. I asked them if they
needed anything from our side to change their mind, or help them come
to a conclusion/decision.
