gov 2.0 expo

Hi all,

Maybe some US representatives would be able to visit the government 2.0 Expo
in  Washington May next year.

http://www.gov2expo.com/gov2expo2010

Might be fun to coordinate this with the Gnomies as well to make sure we have
a serious FOSS Desktop presence. Might even be something for that cool 'make
the US government use more FOSS' initiative recently discussed on the e.V.
mailinglist?

Who lives close to that area and is willing to visit?

Cheers,

Jos

I was more thinking of a booth and maybe a talk, depends a bit on what they
want of course... Dot story is bonus ;-)

a talk on KDE's use in German government offices and the school systems in
Spain and Brazil could be great. would require doing some research into it.

is anyone getting in touch with Natalia Dugandzic to check on the possibility
of snagging a booth for our non-profit?

Already contacted her.  She put me in touch with a "purchasing agent" who is supposed to get back to me with details.  I'm new to this whole process of securing booth space for us but Celeste told me there's a general policy of not paying for booths so we'll see what this person has to say whenever they do respond given the title.

If anyone wants to submit talks that would be awesome.  I don't know if I'd personally have time to put something together, but would be more than happy to help facilitate logistics for anyone who ends up in the area to visit for this meeting.  As an added bonus, I'll help you find the best DC happy hours to visit after the conference ends each day ;-)

they'll probably return with "it is only Nx$1000 to become a sponsor and
here's what you get for that money!" thankfully it's an O'Reilly event,
however, so there's a chance here that we can figure something out. a booth
would be awesome, but attendance for us should be a minimum i think.
