gphoto2 very slow to initialize when taking pictures

Hello,

When I try to take pictures using the following command, it takes a lot of time to initialize.

Is this to be expected? should I use a different option in the command line? is it fixed in a more recent release?
Is it the same with other cameras?

I use gphoto2-2.4.5-1.fc11.i586 on fedora 11
I connect my Canon 1000D via USB

I use the following command:
gphoto2 --set-config capture=1 --capture-image-and-download
It spends about 40 seconds for "Initializing Camera" stage

Thanks a lot for your help!

This delay is due to the camera loading the meta information
of all images on the card. This is mostly unavoidable currently,
otherwise we will not really find out the correct path of
the captured image.

If you insert an empty card it will be faster.

Ciao, Marcus
