group therapy notes

hi folks,

the Seaton House Family Health Team (homeless shelter) wants to develop
functionality that could be used to support a therapist / social worker
/ nutritionist etc. writing notes for a group....

the following are the rough functional requirements:

- be able to create a special 'dummy' patient that would be considered
the therapists file for the group (this is where the therapist would
write a note that would be relevant to all who attended the group  -
'e.g. participants discussed issues of conflict resolution and good
commmunication skills.'
- the record for that group would have all of the functionality normally
available for a patient record, and would require the therapist to note
the issues that members in the group have that were related to that
group session
- a window would appear within the case management note that would bring
up the list of all patients in the therapists case load (as defined by
their program in CAISI functionality) and the therapist could check off
all the patients who were in that group that day
- when you saved the note, the record of each patient who was in the
group would have the following become part of their record:
       - the issues assigned to the group note would be applied to each
patient (if not already assigned to that patient)
       - the note from that group would be assigned to each patient who
had their name checked in the window above

any thoughts about this functionality? We have several therapists who
are using OSCAR/CAISI who require some way of writing notes that will
appear in every group participants record and this is an idea for a
first release of such a function....

I've also posted these on the plone and folks can make contributions to
the requirements directly there as well....
