<br><br>Gtk 2.14 adds a few new GtkAdjustment funcs, per diff below.
<br><br>The configure one may be important, as it looks like you're forced to use that,
<br>as doing the right thing yourself with notifies produces a slew of superfluous
<br>changed signals. (Which should be a bug, or a serious misfeature, as it can
<br>only slow down correct programs to attempt to help incorrect programs.)
<br><br>The "set_" funcs check for an unchanged value (but perhaps wrongly comparing as
<br>gdoubles instead of gfloats) so I suppose should be included. All those
<br>specific set functions offer type safety for C, but are really just bloat for
<br>perl :-(.

<br>After a fresh install on some machines and update from Jaunty on another one,
<br>we can't catch $USER $USERNAME $LOGNAME
<br>from /etc/gdm/PostLogin/Default, we get "gdm" for all variables instead of real
<br>login name. It was working since 7.04 version.
<br>If in a terminal we run : echo $USER, we get the real login name.
<br><br>example below :
<br><br>If I put those 3 lines in /etc/gdm/PostLogin/Default:
<br><br>echo $USER > /tmp/aaa.txt
<br>echo $USERNAME >> /tmp/aaa.txt
<br>echo $LOGNAME >> /tmp/aaa.txt
<br><br>after every login I get this result:
<br><br>$ cat /tmp/aaa.txt
<br>gdm
<br>gdm
<br>gdm
<br><br>I would expect to get my real login name in those 3 variables instead of "gdm",
<br>which is of no use to take specific action based on which user is logging in.
<br>This was working as expected with at least the 3 previous versions of Ubuntu.

<br><br>Incidentally, you'd have to be tempted to show "$keyval" instead of "$symbol"
<br>as the arg. "symbol" is what the Gdk docs have, but it seems inconsistent with

<br><br>In Debian, we have been applying a patch to add whatis entries to the man pages
<br>included in libpango-perl. It would be great to be able to get this patch
<br>applied upstream so that we could drop it in Debian. I have attached the patch
<br>to this bug report.

<br>my $item=Gtk2::MenuItem->new('sometext');
<br>will not be automatically destroyed unless it has been added to a menu.
<br>This does not happen if the Gtk2::MenuItem has been created with :
<br>my $item=Gtk2::MenuItem->new;
<br>even if a label is added afterward.
<br><br>You might say that menuitem are almost always added to a menu :)
<br>But in the case of menuitem used as proxy_menu_item for a Gtk2::ToolItem, the
<br>menuitem won't be destroyed unless the menuitem has been added to the overflow
<br>menu.

<br><br>Currently, Glib is missing support for declaring Object properties
<br>storing GType (as package names), and for setting/getting those
<br>properties.
<br><br>The implementation of GParamSpecGType is pretty trivial, requiring
<br>only the registration of the GParamSpec and some glue for constructor
<br>and accessor to its only public member.
<br><br>The implementation of GValue support for GType is slightly more
<br>"interesting", since GType is *not* a fundamental type (like one
<br>would expect) but a sub-type of G_TYPE_POINTER.

<br>since GConfEntry objects should only be created by GConf itself, and not by the
<br>developer, this is only a potential leak in case of programmer error.
<br><br>in any case, leaking is never nice, so I've applied it to master.
<br><br>for further reference, try using `git format-patch` next time, so that I can

<br><br><br>In the current cvs, the default SET_PROPERTY method for a Glib::Object subclass
<br>doesn't call a tie on the hash entry it stores to. Failing test case and
<br>possible fix below.
<br><br>I struck this when experimenting with a tie to get a 'notify' signal emitted if
<br>an object field value becomes undef due to weakening. A SET_PROPERTY written
<br>in perl storing to the hash entry reaches the tie, but the C code doesn't.
