Hi Steven,
i have a fairly fast computer running XP. I use WinXoundNet for trying out single instruments and paste it in Blue if they please me. But in Blue the same instrument gives a significant increase in the CPU resources. This goes from 3 - 5% in WinXoundNet to 50% in Blue playing the same instrument.
I have the impression it has to do with the time pointer in Blue. The standard Time Pointer Animation Rate = 20, but when i lower it to 1 i see the load on the CPU of 6 - 7% on this particular instrument. A big difference. And more power can be used by Csound of course.
Do you think that in Blue2 some form of time-pointing could be used that isn't that hungry?
greetings,
Menno
