No, there seem to be no noticable difference on the load of the CPU when using the API or not.

I'd love to go but i will not. I can go to a LAC when it is in Berlin because i know somebody living there so i have a place to stay, but the number of Italians i know is very limited i'm afraid.
I will be seeing the LAC streaming on my computer, last year it was in a good quality because the speaker himself had a microphone and it was very possible to follow the presentations. Hope it is that well this year too.
