hello world - glib dbus

Hi,

I am very new to dbus. I am trying to run a small example.
Here there are some client examples: http://dbus.freedesktop.org/doc/dbus-tutorial.html#A_sample_program
But no server example for dbus-glib.

Well so I tried so make one but when running the client I get the error:
"The name im.pidgin.purple.PurpleService was not provided by any .service files"
Well should I really do something in /usr/share/dbus-1/services ?

Is there somewhere a full example (client/server/daemon etc... everything needed to run something ?)

(note: cannot use python right now)

Sincerely
Julien

Hi,

Yesterday i found a nice tutorial:
http://www.unixgarden.com/index.php/programmation/decouvertes-et-experimentation-avec-d-bus

Well, there is winDbus: http://sourceforge.net/projects/windbus/files/

is there any dbus-glib binaries for win32
Should be there: http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/binaries/win32/dependencies/

Sincerely
Julien

It would be nice to have consensus on what dbus implementation(s) for
Windows are good and have proper distributions of them in source and
binary form first. And evidence that they interoperate... Check my
recent messages to this list, subjects "Merging the dbus4win code
upstream" and "Interoperability between DBus implementations on
Windows".

Sure, eventually, yes.
