help with gammu-plugin installationhi all,
I wanted to test the gammu plugin with my SE k810i, but I cannot for the life of me get that thing to compile on my Natty linux box. First, I got a prompt from cmake telling me to specify the path to the FindGammu.cmake file or to some config files whose names couldn't be found in the sources I checked out from svn. So I made a FindGammu.cmake by adapting FindBluez.cmake . That made the prompt go away, but I get an error telling me that gammu-types.h cannot be found when I try to compile the plugin using make (libgammu-dev is installed). The funny thing is that it seems to find gammu.h alright, which resides in the same dir as gammu-types.h. I'm not very good with C, but I would think that those header files should be found in any case since they live in the default dir under /usr/include/ Did anyone experience similar problems and has come up with the solution? Here's the relevant data of my setup (as listed on http://www.opensync.org/wiki/questionGuide): opensync version: 0.39 Operating System: Ubuntu Natty list of plugins: vformat, file, gammu-sync (to be installed) actions that caused the problem: building regards, poohsen -- Empfehlen Sie GMX DSL Ihren Freunden und Bekannten und wir belohnen Sie mit bis zu 50,- Euro! https://freundschaftswerbung.gmx.de ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ vRanger cuts backup time in half-while increasing security. Re: help with gammu-plugin installationHi,
I'm sorry, that no one replied to you mail and I'm for sure not the person that should do this, 'cause not dealing with 0.39, but you probably need to build gammu yourself - that's what I would do. respectively first check the gammu version and run locate FindGammu.cmake or equivalent to try finding if the file is there. There is no sense to hack on the file as you probably won't reinvent the wheel (except you are good in cmake). regards --- On Mon, 5/30/11, poohsen@... <poohsen@...> wrote: > From: poohsen@... <poohsen@...> > Subject: [Opensync-users] help with gammu-plugin installation > To: opensync-users@... > Date: Monday, May 30, 2011, 7:49 AM > hi all, > > I wanted to test the gammu plugin with my SE k810i, but I > cannot for the life of me get that thing to compile on my > Natty linux box. > > First, I got a prompt from cmake telling me to specify the > path to the FindGammu.cmake file or to some config files > whose names couldn't be found in the sources I checked out > from svn. > > So I made a FindGammu.cmake by adapting FindBluez.cmake . > That made the prompt go away, but I get an error telling me > that gammu-types.h cannot be found when I try to compile the > plugin using make (libgammu-dev is installed). > > The funny thing is that it seems to find gammu.h alright, > which resides in the same dir as gammu-types.h. Re: help with gammu-plugin installationHopefully Quentin knows where the FindGammu.cmake file is, since
he was working on it last. :-) I did a google search and a debian package search and a cmake git tree search, and didn't find it, so I'm assuming Quentin make it himself. Re: help with gammu-plugin installationHi all,
thanks for your replies. @Emanoil: I even started out with the gammu 1.29.0 source but then switched to the package in my distro, for fear that I had missed some important environment variable for making the custom gammu installation in my /opt dir work properly (i.e. make its include files be found by the gammu plugin). I thought that if I install libgammu-dev through the package manager, the header files will be found in any case. However, since the google calendar plugin also had issues (there were errors parsing the incoming events; it looked like it was expecting XML but not getting it) and it is not really sufficiently documented, I kinda gave up on my sync plans. I'd have to look at the code, I guess, and I just don't have the time to get that involved with OpenSync. Re: help with gammu-plugin installationHi all,
Sorry for my late reply, I oversaw the initial post. It seems that I have forgotten to commit the cmake module. I attach it to this mail, feel free to commit it to git/svn, I have to reconfigure my access. However, keep in mind that the gammu is not working yet. I got stuck with the gammu_contac->xmlformat conversion (unhelped with some C and xml object issues). Alternatively, the gammu engine could export the contacts/events in vcard-form, which could use the vformat plugin to do the conversion (but I am not experiences enough with OpenSync to do so, yet). Feel free to hack on gammu, I probably won't have time in the near future for it. Best regards, Quentin PS: still convinced that we should release a stable 0.40 version, for the sake of our potential contributors On Tuesday 07 June 2011 07:47:07 poohsen@... wrote: > Hi all, > > thanks for your replies. > > @Emanoil: I even started out with the gammu 1.29.0 source but then > switched to the package in my distro, for fear that I had missed some > important environment variable for making the custom gammu installation in > my /opt dir work properly (i.e. make its include files be found by the > gammu plugin). > > I thought that if I install libgammu-dev through the package manager, the > header files will be found in any case.
