jQuery: The Write Less, Do More JavaScript Library

How do I switch from the skin feature to embedding?

The skin feature is now obsolete and you should switch to an embedded forum if you want to keep the look and feel of your website with your forum. Nabble will let both ideas (skins and embedding) coexist for some time until most of the users have finished this transition. You should switch your forum soon if you don't want to lose your skin.

We have prepared a small guide to help our users with this task. The following steps should be enough if you know the basics of HTML and CSS. You can contact Nabble Support if you want us to do this change, but you will have to embed the javascript code in your website (step #2 below) because we won't have such access.

Basically, this is how you can switch to an embedded forum:

1 Remove the skin code from your forum (make sure you save a copy of the skin code before you remove it). To do this, go to your forum, click "Edit this forum", copy the skin html (paste elsewhere in order to save it) and change the appearance radio button to "Use Default Nabble Appearance". Then save your changes.

Note: If you are not the current owner of the forum, please contact Nabble Support in order to claim its ownership. You will have to explain your affiliation with the project and must be able to embed the forum's javascript code in the project's website.

2 Go to your site, create a new HTML page, embed your forum by inserting the code snippet into the HTML code of your new page. You can also check this option if you want to redirect Nabble visitors to your page.

3 If you need to change styles such as fonts and colors of your embedded forum, please refer to this help article. Essentially, you have to click on the "Customize Appearance" tab and provide a custom CSS for your forum. You may use the old skin (saved in step #1) as a guide for this customization. Nabble also has several predefined styles that you can use as a template for modification.
