how do i reco a EF1000is

I love my little generator so much it now needs reco and i am unsure where to start.
Ive loved it 5500hrs or nearly half-a-million kilometers - 10hrs per day by 16months....it now blows blue smoke, needs a carby blow-out every start and glug-oil doesnt seem to work...The plug gunks up reallllly badly really quickly and it uses 180ml's of oil per 2 litres of fuel...

Would i just need a set of rings for it??

When i originally wrote the above post my generator was using a lot of oil and blowing a lot of smoke...

When i pulled it down the exhaust chamber and muffler was just about fully clogged with carbon. After cleaning and reassembly it started using a varying amount of oil but still too much...

I then cleaned the fuel system, changed the oil to a single grade 30 and ran it flat out for four hours...

Nowadays it virtually doesnt use an oil, doesnt blow smoke and runs sweet and smooth...

If only i had of followed the manual in the first place...
