I'm pretty sure you can do that. Here's what the rules say:

"To play a Mugic Card, check if it has a tribal affiliation. If it does, then remove Mugic counters from a Creature you control of the same Tribe equal to the number of Mugic symbols on the card. If the Mugic Card is Generic, you may remove the appropriate number of Mugic counters from a Creature of any Tribe."

It doesn't seem to mention anything about having to use counters from your Engaged Creature to use Mugic, just that when you want to play mugic, you take counters from any creature as long as the Creature you take them from is part of the same Tribe as the Mugic.

i think u can because if you watch the scavenger scan match episode u see peyton using siadio's mepidian couter to use "Fanfear of vanshing" Mugic on skreet (an underworlder) allowing skeet to camoflage

well that could simply be a mepidian ability that requires the use of a mugic counter, not an actual mugic itself.

For the question on Mugic, I doubt you can use mugic from creatues not currently engaged. Or else it would be very cheap and unfair (ie: your facing a maxxor and you simply throw out 6 mugics on the first turn to cripple him)

In the show their never shown using mugic from another creature, but they are shown using abilities from other creatues during battle.
