Now that the iPhone has been out for a few weeks, here are some interesting reviews from users who have spent time finding out all that they love and hate about it.
Some of the main issues include:
- Can't use the iPhone as an external disc, like iPods
- On-screen keyboard not as efficient as Tactile keyboards
- Lack of 3G, slower speeds
- No Spam control on email
- UI not refined - i.e., no access to Photos from email to send pictures
- Can't use iPhone as a modem
- Can't sync or transfer files over Bluetooth
- Can't use music from iTunes as ringtones
- No Cut & Paste
As a gadget lover, I admire the iPhone for its attempt at merging several key devices that many people own today: Cell phone, camera, PDA, iPod > all into one device. But like all first-release products, there are bound to be issues. Fortunately, most of the major complaints appear to be issues that Apple can address in a v2.0 release.
Of interest to note, is that the tech community have found some workarounds already, including:
- iPhone hacked for shell access
- Filesystem opened
