identifying accession number's databaseHi all,
I have a list of accession numbers which could be from several databases(e.g. NCBI, UniProt, Ensemble). Does anyone know of a way I can determine which database a particular accession number is from? thanks, Chase _______________________________________________ Bioperl-l mailing list Bioperl-l@... http://lists.open-bio.org/mailman/listinfo/bioperl-l |

Re: identifying accession number's databaseHans, thanks that was definitely helpful. Looks like there isn't a perfect
solution, so I'll have to do a bit of guessing with my regexs. (sounds like a good project....Bio::DB::GuessDB...) > Mark, I had a feeling my old google mentor wasn't going to let me off the hook that easily once Hans said it was an open problem. :) I'll dust off my commit bit and see what I can do. Re: identifying accession number's databaseI know that a former coworker of mine (Serge, copied) has written Perl
code that guesses for quite a number of possible sources. I don't know whether any of it is available somewhere. -hilmar Sent from my iPod On Oct 24, 2009, at 10:19 AM, "Mark A.
