imdb results

I just upgraded to version 1.9 with kde 4.3.

I get no results whenever I do an imdb search. However amazon does work but not as well as before. Is this s bug or is there a setting I'm missing?

I'm sorry to have to put it this way, but there is no version 1.9. If your
distribution has chosen to package an unreleased version, it makes it very
hard for me to answer questions like yours since I have no idea what version
of code you're running.

Once I release a version of Tellico for KDE4 (beta, pre-release or
whatever), if you still have problems, then please let me know. Or if you're
using versions compiled from SVN, where you can update periodically...and in
that case, I'll need more details from you. Just saying that amazon doesn't
work as well as before doesn't tell me anything. Provide a specific example
with specific expected results...

Thanks,
Robby

Thank you for your quick reply. In the about box my it says:

Version 1.9
Using KDE 4.2.95 (KDE 4.2.95 (KDE 4.3 RC1)) "release 139"

the rpm I used is a suse 11 rpm: tellico-1.9_SVN20090219-3.5

My main issue is that imdb always returns no results. I only mentioned amazon as a comparison but I not really that concerned about amazon.

If you think that it is because of the suse build then let me know so I can download your svn. I am very pleased with the new kde4 interface and the new features of this build and do not wish to go back to the kde 3 version.

Thank you

pls, i'm still waiting for a reply for both my post. i have over 1000 records in my database so switching programs is no an option for me.

1) imdb always returns no results
2) The vast majority of my records are no longer showing images anymore.

these problems both surfaced when I updated to the kde4 version.

After the update all I did was to open the tc file that I was using with the previous version then no more images of the movies and no imdb.

Pls. someone  help

thanks

Hi,

A couple of things, like I said, there's no version of tellico for kde4
that I am ready to release for general usage. It's still in development.
If your distribution chose to put something out and you choose to use
it, that's up to you. From what you wrote about suse, it looks like
you're using a version from February. There has been a ton of
development since then, I can't help you with using that version.

Second, also as I said, I need more details if I'm to check your
problems at all. "IMDB doesn't work" is not good enough. Tell me what
you're searching for, and what happens. For example, "I do a title
search for "winnie the pooh" and there are no results." That's a lot
more helpful. As for the images, for example, "I store images in the
data file and now when I open it, they are not shown in the details view
in the lower right". When you say "vast majority" that implies that some
_are_ shown...help me by trying to figure out which ones work and which
ones don't...you're using an unreleased version of the software, you
have to help me...

Finally, I'm doing some remodeling at home and as a result, I don't have
internet there, so I can't even check imdb search at all right now anyway.

Sorry. If you need the functionality you used to have, your only
guaranteed option is to go back to using 1.3.5

Thanks for your reply. Before I read this I have already gone back to 1.3.5.
Imdb is working fine now. What I was trying to say before was that any movie you search for returns no results.
But that's history now. I'll wait for a proper kde4 port.

However my images are still missing. I have not changed my original settings of storing images in the file. I used the term vast majority because I have 1100 movies. Virtually all of them had images in their records (covers). If you click on a record the cover used to show in the bottom pane. Now most of them that were there are now gone. I don't mean to sound vague but I don't think you want me to start naming hundreds of missing images. Over a year ago i was storing the images in a separate folder. That folder still exists but the dates on the files are quite old so I assumed that the program was actually storing them in the tc file like I wanted. but now I just dont see them. Some show and some dont.

But see, that's where I needed more details from you. IMDB search works fine
right now with the current svn version. So I can't tell if it's just that I
fixed the issue between now and whenever you got your version, or if you're
doing a specific search or using a specific setting that still doesn't work.
That's why I have to have details in order to figure out problems. And for
that, I must have specific help from the people reporting them...

Now, I'm not sure if you're talking about with version 1.3.5 or not...

You might be able to fix the problem by trying File->Export->to Zip...
