index.cgi displays test, rather than executing, Debian Lenny

I am sure this is a FAQ, but the Debian install seems to default in
all sorts of differnt ways from the general Bugzilla documentation. I
think I have figured most of it out. But, the index.cgi file is
displayed in the user's brower rather that being executed.

I think I have all the files properly chmod +x with appropiate

Options +ExecCGI -MultiViews +SymLinksIfOwnerMatch

in the applicable apache2 config files.

What am I missing?

thanks
Pat

Hi pat,

first run checksetup.pl command and check whether perl modules need to
install,

Create database and user for it apart from default root and give all
permissions,

Last but not least , check the perl path created in window registry should
be same the folder structure of perl and path given in bugzilla installation
guide.

Hope this will work for you.

Regards,
