installing Debian on Asus WL500G Premium v2

Hello,

I have the router in the subject and I would like to run Debian on it.  
I have read http://wpkg.org/Running_Debian_on_ASUS_WL-500G_deluxe, which
also mentions the v1, but it uses a special kernel built with OpenWRT.  
Besides, the v2 is a bit different and I don't want to risk bricking my
router.

Is it possible to run pure Debian on it?
