installing open babel on cygwin failed

Hello,

I tried to install open babel version 2.2.0 on cygwin but wasn't  
successful. The files configure.out and make.out are attached.

Jana,

1) Looks like you didn't capture the STDERR, only STDOUT so all of the
error messages are missing from the make.out file.

2) Did you have a chance to take a look at the instructions here:
http://openbabel.org/wiki/Install_%28MinGW%29
and there:
http://openbabel.org/wiki/Install_%28Cygwin%29

3) The build process on MinGW at least has been discussed a few dozen
times on this list. Are you trying to compile an executable - babel.exe
or do you need libopenbabel-3.dll? For build instructions for the latter
I recommend checking the README file in OSRA source distribution -
osra-1.3.2.tgz, I describe the process there in detail. Also, if you
download osra-mingw-1-3-2.zip file it contains libopenbabel-3.dll file
itself.

Hello Jana,

I'm afraid that building OB on cygwin currently is broken (and has
been for a long time). Some work was done on fixing it but problems
remain. Is there some particular reason you require a cygwin build?
