okay, as noted below, iphone sync is working using caldav/groupdav, reading
the list archives last night, I found a lot of contradictory info, but to
sumarize
allows 2 way sync and sets up an additional calendar on the iphone, this
works fine, until you try to do reoccuring events, basically it's putting the
event 1 day ahead of where it should be on the iphone.
Have NOT tested what happens if the reoccuring event is created on the
iphone. Will have the user try that and report back.
I am happy to see that unlike with windows mobile and syncml, modifying an
event on the mobile calendar doesn't delete it from eGw during the next sync.
So an appointment scheduled for 6pm tuesday as a reoccuring event (tuesday
explicitly set in the item) shows up on the iphone on Mondays, same happens
for a Wednesday event, it shows up on tuesday on the iphone.
This reminds me of the problem when using the funambol syncml client where
the timezone stuff wasn't handled properly and it you scheduled an
appointment in eGW for 7am PST, it would show up at the GMT time of 2300 the
previous day when synced to the device.
I vaguely remember seeing a comment about this problem but was unable to find
it again in the Nabble archive this morning.
I have not looked at the server side logs yet, but when I do, what
specifically should I be looking for to help troubleshoot this issue?
Device is a iphone 3g and is running the latest os update as of a few weeks
ago, I am not sure if that's 3.x or still a 2.x variant.
Comments?

Re: iphone groupdav issues with reoccuring appointments
Following up, creating the recurring appointment on the iphone seems okay
until you sync with egw, then the appointment again shifts backward 1 day on
the iphone. The egw calendar still displays it at the proper date and time,
but the iphone after syncing does not :-(
Next had user remove recurrent appointments from the iphone, creating a new
recurrent one for tuesday and a recurrent one for wednesday. After sync, the
tuesday appointment kept it's location while the wednesday one was shifted
back to tuesday.
