is there a shapelib tar file for MacOS?

we are able to build the shapelib for linux but Mac puts things a little differently in its system and putting that in the makefile gives me a few unknowns. is there a shapelib builder available for the macOS? thanks!!

I am not aware of anything like that except the Darwin Ports.
Have you tried the ports?
