issue tracker usage

Hey guys,

a short proposal for the issue tracker usage:

a) introduce appropriate target milestones for the
planned releases, for example a milestone for 1.8.0

b) assign milestone 1.8.0 to all fixed issues since 1.7.0

c) optionally, add issues for fixes and enhancements that were
made but not documented with the issue tracker
(as far as recallable)

d) in the future, always add an issue to the tracker for any changes made

This way we have a simple query to list all fixed issues in the release notes.
We could use the milestones for future releases as some kind of road map.
In the end, we get more transparency.

WDYT?

I'd volunteer for these tasks, but currently I'm not allowed to
create new target milestones in the issue tracker.

Holger

Please let me know your opinion.
If you think this makes sense,
please grant me project owner rights
on java.net to proceed with target milestone
creation.

Thanks,
Holger

Granted. I think moving nearly all issues out to 1.8 is the right approach.

Ok, I added issues 427-445 to document the
work done since version 1.7.
Sorry for flooding you with issue tracker mails.
Please feel free to add any missing feature or bugfix.

TreeList and TreeTableSupport are covered by
issue 360 and 361.
We should either resolve them for 1.8.0 or
create separate issues documenting the current state.

That's it for now,
Holger
