Hi Guys,
I just came across this Windows utility (commandline at the moment)
that is based on a linux one, so I will hopefully get time this week
to give it a try...

Windows: http://bitbucket.org/moumar/multimidicast-for-windows/wiki/Home

Linux: http://llg.cubic.org/tools/multimidicast/

Says it also interacts with ipMidi, LoopBe, Midi-Yoke, and Maple...

Q1 How can I set the customizer to show "Customize Keyboards" by default?

Unlike previous versions, the default setting in v3.8 shows "Customize Fluidsynth". I never need to alter anything here but I often do have to set or reset the keyboards, therefore the second screen is the one I use most!
> I hope that is not a problem in your view, it is a 32 note and beefy as
> all get out. The bottom pan is metal and every pedal is lined on the
> bottom with metal; no flex and no give. The switches are built into the
> front of the board and all work perfectly. No noise during play and,
> best of all, it converted to Midibox in less that an hour. It was all
> prewired into a header plug that went to Midibox directly with a $3.00
> connector and a tad of solder and ribbon cable. You can see the DIN
> board in one of the photos.
>
> The price was right and you know how important that is to us SSA type
> blokes! My rodgers has a radiating pedal board that I may switch with
> this setup if all end well.

Much more will happen during the build and I will keep you folks informed.

George,

jOrgan does not "recognize" GSO3, per se. When set up properly, jOrgan
merely sees (via the Generic Sound element) the eight MIDI devices
created by the GSO3 driver. To jOrgan they would look just like any
other MIDI-Out device created by other device drivers in Windows.

Open your jOrgan disposition in Construct mode. Then locate one of (or
your only) "Generic Sound" elements.

Open its "Properties" tab.

Click on it "Output" property value cell. It should turn into a
drop-down scrollable selection list. This list should contain at least
8 entries corresponding to the MIDI devices that the GSO3 driver
creates. They are:
GigaOut: Port 1 / Control
GigaOut: Port 2
GigaOut: Port 3
GigaOut: Port 4
GigaOut: Port 5
GigaOut: Port 6
GigaOut: Port 7
GigaOut: Port 8

If you don't see these 8 MIDI devices listed in the drop-down window,
then your GSO3 software is not installed properly.

If you DO see these devices, and a different one has been selected for
each of the "Generic Sound" elements in your disposition, then you will
need to start tracing the MIDI data flow from jOrgan to and into GSO3.

Hello All,

I'm back again, I'm having a problem with JOrgan not recognizing GigaStudio3. In the Problem "window", I have a list of Yellow triangles with exclamation points in them followed by three question marks. These refer to the Console Input and Output, A couple of the Manuals and a few of the voices. I can't find a reference to this situation in the JOrgan manual so, once again I am stumped. I have two M-Audio sound cards which GSO3 seems to be recognizing since I updated the sound card driver. I can't be sure since I can't get any sound out of the system yet. Once I do, I'll post the new driver in case anyone else wants it. I'm hoping someone can help me get this problem straightened out.

Best Regards to All,

Hi Bill,

this is a mailing list and we don't want to throw gigabytes of pictures
on people how might not want to see them.

Please do as you have written: post the pictures somewhere on the web
and let us know of any changes you've made.
I'm sure many would love to see your photo story on the whole.
We could add a new page 'success stories' with links to our Wiki.

Have fun
> Thank you, that will come in handy for sure. It seems that the forum has a
> very tiny allowance for a post that includes pictures. I guess I could place
> the photos on a hosting service then add just URL links, but, that really
> reduces the effectiveness of the post, IMHO; a picture is worth a bunch of
> words.
>
> Thank you,
>> Hi Bill,
>> in the case you're Win user - years ago I found a tiny tool which serves
>> only one single function: to resize bmp and jpegs without changing the
>> edges length of the picture. You can easily test and resize your pics to
>> some kilobytes each with some little quality loss.
>> Hm, unfortunately I cannot send it as an attachment, cause the 218 kb are
>> much over the Nabble limits... :-(
>> Guys
>>
>> I am sorry that my original post is gone, I received the following message
>> from the web site:
>>
>> The reason it is being held:
>>
>> Message body is too big: 68479 bytes with a limit of 64 KB
>>
>> And then it just hung in limbo and never received approval. As a result my
>> photos only appeared in the email version. I was a data hog since I was 3
>> KBytes over the limit.
>>
>> This seems very limiting since a couple of photos that help explain the
>> topic blows you over that tiny limit. So, I am sorry that the message was
>> lost.
>>
>>

Thank you, that will come in handy for sure. It seems that the forum has a very tiny allowance for a post that includes pictures. I guess I could place the photos on a hosting service then add just URL links, but, that really reduces the effectiveness of the post, IMHO; a picture is worth a bunch of words.

Guys

I am sorry that my original post is gone, I received the
  following message
from the web site:

The reason it is being
  held:

Message body is too big: 68479
bytes with a limit of 64 KB

And then it just hung in limbo and never
received approval. As a result my
photos only appeared in the email
version. I was a data hog since I was 3
KBytes over the limit.

This
seems very limiting since a couple of photos that help explain the
topic
blows you over that tiny limit. So, I am sorry that the message

After struggling for over a year to get jOrgan operating on my Mac I have finally succeeded. I have used the Mac program "Boot Camp" with OS 10.6 ("Snow Leopard"). It works perfectly in all respects, including with multiple instances of Fluidsynth. This method, although somewhat defeatist in that it involves a second HD partition loaded with either Windows Vista or XP, permits the identical jOrgan functions to those available to a PC operator. IMHO it is the best currently available solution to the problem of jOrgan on a Mac.

Boot Camp is superior to "Parallels" as the latter, which involves a "virtual machine", is fraught with unacceptable latency which is not a problem at all with Boot Camp.
Subject: [jOrgan-user] Speakers?

Guys,

Need some advice.....

The speakers I am currently using on jOrgan are really not good enough, and
were used as a 'stop gap' until I had things running properly.

Now I need something better.

I did see the thread some time back on speakers - but those suggested are
well out of my price range!

So....
Am I better going for a powered monitor like the Samson Resolv 80a or
Behringer B2031A Or something like a Studiomaster PAX10?

My budget is less than £300.... and even Santa won't be more generous!

Many thanks
Andy
