java & CF installHi, a good friend has asked me about the install of CF 8 on Leopard. He gets the error: "java out of memory". I have never seen this myself, as I am running cf on Tiger, but I am upgrading to Leopard in a few weeks, and so I am very interested in finding a solution to this myself. I told him that it is most likely the java updates from apple that is messing this up. Is installing CF 8 on Leopard just like installing CF 8 on Tiger(which I found a walk in the park)? Also, is there anything that you would recommended as a pre list; that is, things to make sure you do to avoid errors during the install ? Also, is there any reason why I would install the 64 bit version? I am just using a dev laptop as I have many remote hosts that I use. Re: java & CF installHi Johnny, I¹ve got CF8 running on Leopard, and there were a few hurdles to jump to get it running. I had to install the 64-bit version, as my built-in Apache was 64 bit. Same with MySQL it had to be 64-bit. For all that to work, I had to go into the Java preferences in Applications/Utilities and set Java SE 6 (64-bit) and J2SE 5.0 (64-bit) as my top choices for Java applet and application versions. Then, I believe I was able to install CF8 and run it without problems. I hope that helps!
