java viewer to recordHi.
I'd like to put the Java viewer into an applet that is used only to record the user's desktop, the user will then upload the video to me so that I can display it back them them whenever they want to see it. I can put the viewer on the client in an applet and record an rfb without a vnc server involved anywhere? Thank you for your time. ~Mike Nereson |

What would you record if there is no VNC server anywhere? With the TightVNC Java viewer, you can record RFB data, but that data should be received from some VNC or TightVNC Server. -- With Best Wishes, Constantin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us! Re: java viewer to record>> What would you record if there is no VNC server anywhere? The end goal in my case here is to record the desktop to a RFB file format. >> With the TightVNC Java viewer, you can record RFB data, but that data >> should be received from some VNC or TightVNC Server. Can the viewer be modified to generate that RFB data on its own, without a server, so that it can record the desktop? Are any of the tools to do that already part of the viewer source code? Are there any open source Java VNC servers that you might suggest that I look at that I can use to add this functionality to the viewer? I am not looking for a client-server connection, just for it all to take place on the client. So I would remove to communication support and ideally be able to just stream the server RFB data right to the recorder. Thanks for any direction or advice that you might be able to share. |

Well, I'd rather modify the server to record the desktop. TightVNC Viewer has nothing to do with screen grabbing and encoding. -- With Best Wishes, Constantin ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us!
