hi,

a quick word on my on going multiproto patch for kaffeine.

So far so good, i managed to figure out most multiproto changes from the
regular api

i've taken the getstream application as a template for my patch, so i'm
using macros but some (only one)  #ifdef  remain in the main code at the
moment.

Basic things such as tuning still work with my dvbs card, hopefully it
should work as well with my dvbs2 card on dvbs chans but untested at the
moment..

Before i extend the patch to other areas of the application (scaning,
channel editor and  such..) i need to find a proper way to distinguish
dvbs channels from dvbs2 ones..

So far i don't think it's necessary to separate dvbs adapters from dvbs2
capable ones in the dvb config part, so the dvb s/s2 devices remain
labelled as "dvbs" devices, but then dvbs2 transponders and channels
should be identified in the channellist.

If i'm correct there's no transponder list stored in the config files so
i would simply add, if it's not already there, a dvb s/s2 flag to the
channellist data..

Now what i'm more concerned about is how the scanning process will let
me know which is what..
I'm not familiar with the way the transponder list is fetched from a
tuned transponder (SI table ?), are dvbs2 transponder also present in
those lists or do you have to tune to a dvbs2 tp to get a list of dvbs2
transponders ?

If the tp list is a global one for all kinds of transponders is the
current SI parsing library capable of identifying dvbs2 transponders
from dvbs one ? if not does anyone have an idea where that parsing takes
place and what should be added to get dvbs2 flags ?

Or should i go blind and do something like "can't tune that dvbs
frequency maybe it's a dvbs2 so try it with dvbs2" ?
