kmymoney on arch linuxAlvaro
I notice from your blogs that you are using Arch Linux. I am using Kubuntu 9.04 and Arch linux. "Assuming" that you are using the latest version of kmymoney on that installation could you please tell me, how I may install it? Terrific job you and your associates are doing with kmymoney (kmoney)! Regards Jack ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Come build with us! Re: kmymoney on arch linuxHello Jack,
yes, I'm running Arch now, using Kdemod.
Remember that I'm actively developing the KDE4 port, so I only have that one installed, which I compile from scratch. I'm eating my own food, so to speak.
However, I noticed there is an AUR package for version 1.0.2. If you install the kdelibs debug packages, you should be able to install it. Have you tried it? Did you get an error? I could take a look at it and check what's wrong.

Re: kmymoney on arch linuxHello Jack and Alvaro,
I'm considering moving from openSUSE to Arch and I was wondering what opinion the both of you have of Arch. How do you guys like it? I currently have it running in VirtualBox. One of the first things that I did was to make sure that KmyMoney2 was available in their repos. Re: kmymoney on arch linuxHello Randy,
I just checked and you are right, KMyMoney is available from the community repos of Arch, not from AUR as a I said in the first place. I really like Arch, particularly Kdemod, because it is a much cleaner KDE than what I had with Kubuntu. Things are a little harder to setup because they are not done automagically. If you want CUPS for your printer, you have to install it and then add it to the rc.conf if you want it to start on boot. However, things are done the way upstream intended to be, and not how Debian or Kubuntu thought they should be, which I think is better to get help. I've had some quirks here and there, but overall it feels good, snappier, and KDE in particular feels a lot better than before.

Re: kmymoney on arch linuxAlvaro and Randy
Thank you for your comments. Found kmymoney in the Arch repos and its looking really good. Regarding Arch, I find their concept to be a very good approach and the system performs well especially the more knowlegable you are, which isn't a status that I have yet obtained.
