I need a filter holder for a Canon EF 24mm wide-angle lens.  I have an old Hoyarex filter holder which will not accomodate Singh Ray filters which I want to buy.
I understand that the Cokin P filter holder will probably vignette on a 24mm lens.  The lens I have is not a zoom just a straight 24mm.

One way to stop the vignetting is to cut off all but 1 filter slot.
This is the only solution that I have heard of.

I use a Lee filter holder on my Canon 24mm lenses, the 24-105 and the
24 TS-E with no vignetting. I set it up with one slot and I do use
Singh Ray filters in it.

I'm using a Cokin P Wide Angle holder - it works well on even my 17mm WA (52 mm adapter).

There are a few more options, which you can research further at Cokin's and Singh-Ray's sites.

One is the Cokin P Slim holder.  It holds just 1 filter and is designed specifically to address this issue.  Slips into a camera bag much more easily than their normal holder.

You can also just hand-hold the filters or use little bits of tape and forget the holder altogether.

An other way to go is to get Singh-Ray's 4x6 filters, which make hand-holding and such easier, and possibly have a look at Cokin's larger Z-Pro holders, Which (I think) will handle the 4x6's.  Not sure you need this if 24 is as wide as you plan to go.
