lifecycle of JiraWebActionSupport extenders

Hello, i'm extending JiraWebActionSupport and I was wondering how to transmit data from one velocity template to other one velocity template. Is it enough just to store it as a class variable in JiraWebActionSupport extension class and to access the variable with appropriate getter method through the velocity template or not? I have tested it and it looks it's working, but I want to be sure about the lifecycle of the JiraWebActionSupport.
