limiting folder access ftp

Hi,

I have webspace that is used primarily to host an official college website, but is also used as space for students to upload web pages for grading.

I have my own admin password which allows me access to all of the site, with edit privileges.

I want to create another login and password that grants access to the "student" folder alone, which I caqn give to the students without fear of them altering or accidentally deleting the official site.

How can I set this up? Is it possible within WSFTP or other software? Must I get the ISP to set it up?
