Bruno,
both makemake and configure jump through some hoops to determine the target cpu
(and makemake routinely gets it wrong, e.g., for mips64el it does not set cpu
at all).
would it make sense to do AC_SUBST(host_cpu_instructionset) in
CL_CANONICAL_HOST_CPU and use that instead of the makemake code?
