Hi Mr. Charles,
if you want a sustain loop in loscil You need to put others argument in opcode, i.e.
imode (normal, backward), start and end position of sustain loop.
Ok, maybe this will be more clear. Try these line:

a1 loscil kamp, kcps, ifn, ibas, 1, 0, 88199

1 is normal mode.
beats sample is 88200 long, from 0 to 88199.

This, at least to me, works.

I only posted this because I think, ideally, examples from the manual
should work out-of-the-box.  Maybe "a1 loscil kamp, kcps, ifn, ibas,
1, 0, 88199" should be inserted then.

You are right,
but note that out message that you report, is only an information (i believe), and example itself work.
Anyway expert and developers are working to improve also manual and examples (see at Mr. Ffitch post). Maybe soon we will have news. Also, with some time to spent, there are many beautiful examples out there ... Unluckly are to much loose.

However we have a beautiful software to study, and then, i think, we are lucky.
