Whatever you are talking about, it looks like good news, but do you have
any details? Do you know whether this also affects stuff like
poppler-data which are in non-free because of CMap files?

Please also post, per developer-reference, a dd-list of affected
packages to debian-devel.

released their CMap files under the BSD license.

I take this opportunity to thank the people who contributed to achieve
this result.


P.S. [partially OT]: BTW, does this have some (hopefully beneficial)
effect on X fonts, as well?  E.g.: see bug #479035 ...
