I've a qmail+vpomail+qmail-scanner server.
Sometimes (two times in the last day ) this happens: two users of a domain (A,B). A send a message to B using an external smtp server.
I can found the log in /var/log/qmail/smtpd/current:

@400000004ab1e8da32db89f4 tcpserver: pid 9316 from 212.19.xxx.xxx
@400000004ab1e8da32dd52fc tcpserver: ok 9316 0:192.168.140.35:25 :212.19.xxx.xxx::47794
@400000004ab1e8da347a0754 CHKUSER accepted sender: from <userA@...::> remote <smtp.smtpserver.it:unknown:212.19.xxx.xxx> rcpt <> : sender
 accepted
@400000004ab1e8da357d4e54 CHKUSER accepted rcpt: from <userA@...::> remote <smtp.smtpserver.it:unknown:212.19.xxx.xxx> rcpt <userB@...> : found existing recipient
@400000004ab1e8da3667ecd4 tcpserver: end 9316 status 256

But i can't find any trace in /var/log/qmail/current. Obviously the user B have no message from A.

Have you any ideas?

Thanks, Luca.

256 = 255 + 1

===^^^===

qmail-smtpd exited with RC=1; thus probably  it failed due to some reason.
Therefore, you don't see any further written log from qmail-send.

Of course, it is almost impossible to seen and guess what the reason was.
