I am trying to install mgetty/vgetty and then vocp (www.vocpsystem.com) on Fedora 8 for use with misterhouse. The vocp site mentions a force_detect patch to bypass automatic modem detection (which often fails). I did as instructed and removed the default mgetty programs. Had some trouble finding all the parts for the new install. VOCP apparently used mgetty 1.1.30. I thought I would try to use the latest and got 1.1.35 from

I am thinking maybe I should forget 1.1.35, get mgetty 1.1.30 and use the files on the vocp site.
Haven't found much in the way of forum support for these programs. The few I found seem to be old and inactive.
Anyone have experience with installing vgetty from source and the force_detect patch?
