net4526 POE?Hi folks. I've got a net4526, which supposedly supports 802.3af power over ethernet. I've got Metrix installed, and everything works fine with a power adapter, but the board apparently is not working via POE. No LEDs are lit at all. Anybody else have this problem? Thanks. -- Jeffrey Ramin CDW Berbee ramin@... 608.298.1024 _______________________________________________ Soekris-tech mailing list Soekris-tech@... http://lists.soekris.com/mailman/listinfo/soekris-tech |

Re: net4526 POE?There does not appear to be universal agreement (at least not between Soekris and some PoE switch vendors) about what is precisely required for 802.3af interoperability. See: http://sysnet.ucsd.edu/wireless/poe/ for our modification to the 4826 wrt this issue.

Re: net4526 POE?My only comment: I'm using Cisco switches, and other POE devices. The other devices work, and don't require any special configuration of the switch. Soekris: if your device doesn't work with the market leader, you need to change what you're doing, IMO.
