Hello folks,

BSDCan 2010 will be held 13-14 May, 2010 in Ottawa at the University of
Ottawa. It will be preceded by two days of tutorials on 11-12 May.

We are now accepting proposals for talks.

The talks should be designed with a very strong technical content bias.
Proposals of a business development or marketing nature are not
appropriate for this venue.

If you are doing something interesting with a BSD operating system,
please submit a proposal. Whether you are developing a very complex
system using BSD as the foundation, or helping others and have a story
to tell about how BSD played a role, we want to hear about your
experience. People using BSD as a platform for research are also
encouraged to submit a proposal. Possible topics include:

* How we manage a giant installation with respect to handling spam.
* and/or sysadmin.
* and/or networking.

From the BSDCan website, the Archives section will allow you to review
the wide variety of past BSDCan presentations as further examples.

Both users and developers are encouraged to share their experiences.

The schedule is:

19 Dec 2009 Proposal acceptance begins
19 Jan 2010 Proposal acceptance ends
19 Feb 2010 Confirmation of accepted proposals

See also <http://www.bsdcan.org/2010/papers.php>

Instructions for submitting a proposal to BSDCan 2010 are available

> Also, ich könnte da was einrichten.

Was du präsentierst liegt vollständig in deinem eigenen Ermessen. Du

Hallo NetBSD-Team,

(english version below)

inklusive. Im Jahr 2009 erlebten 2600 Besucher unsere Veranstaltung
und waren, wie in den Vorjahren, begeistert. Zahlreiche Fotos und
Blog-Einträge erzählen davon [2].

Die Chemnitzer Linux-Tage 2010 finden am 13. und 14. März statt und
stehen unter dem Motto "Dienste und Dämonen". Mit dieser Mail möchten
wir auf den Call for Lectures [3] und den Call for Presentations [4]
hinweisen.
aussagekräftigen Beschreibung an.

We are happy to announce to you the 12th Chemnitz' Linux Days [1] in
March, 2010. Linux Days are the most popular uncommercially organised
event regarding Linux and open source software in Germany. The two-day
event offers a wide lecture programme with almost 100 lectures about
basics, projects, workings, and findings. Furthermore, we provide an
exhibition space to present a lot of projects to the public. As in
previous years, more than 2.500 visitors were greatly impressed by the
event in 2009. Pictures and blog entries give an impression [2].

Chemnitz' Linux Days 2010, themed "Services and Daemons", take place
on March 13 and 14, 2010. The Call for Lectures [3] and the Call for
Presentations [4] have already started. If you would like to showcase
your project as well, please sign up yourself and do not forget to
enter a convincing description. All speakers, exhibitors and helpers
get free entry, full board, and a free ticket for the evening event on
saturday.

In case of open queries, please do not hesitate to contact

call for volunteers at the Southern California Linux Expo in February!

The Southern California Linux Expo is coming up, February 19 - 21,
2010, in Los Angeles. This is a growing open-source expo, which
attracts thousands of attendees from all over; while the name may
mention Linux, these folks are really enthusiastic about
open-source software in all it's many forms.

We've had a NetBSD booth at the expo for the last five years,
thanks to all sorts of generous volunteers. I'm looking for some
more folks to step up and help out -- it's a really fun event if
you have a few people to staff the booth, but running a booth solo
is a nightmare. I can get there with a banner and brochures and
random NetBSD hardware, but it sure would be great to have some
other folks who can talk up the project!

If you're willing to travel, but need a place to crash, I can
provide a couch. If you'd like to make a presentation, the call
for papers closes December 15. If you're curious about just how
crazy it is, and whether it's worth the trip, you could ask John
Klos and David Maxwell, who've stepped up in previous years.

Thanks!

Kevin

Dude, seriously...

What did you expect when engaging in a NetBSD email list? That it
would be easy as pie to convert everyone over to your idea of reality?

People try that all the time and fail, just go back through the archives.

Although this is the first time it's been attempted with religion that
I can remember.

This project is all about finding common ground among people with
disparate wants, needs, styles and cultures. I have no idea where
religion fits into an open source operating system. It probably
doesn't.

With an attitude like yours, you really should put some thought into
doing less computing and devoting more time to the church. It would be
far less disappointing, I'm sure. You'd find people more people that
agree with your sensibilities.

I'll mostly sidestep the remark about going to hell. That's not part
of the reality that I live in so there's no need to abuse you over it.
You probably should bring it up at confession though :)

I personally don't believe in god.
Perhaps there is a god perhaps there is a big ganesha or some other damn
thing.
Perhaps we find out after our dead, that the Spagetthi-Monster people were
right.
But because I'm only catholic on a paper and I dont believe in any of this
shit, and im additionally drunken - which is the only reason why I am
responding on such stupid religios nonsense - you'll get the honor of getting
my honesty.
In my opinion you don't understand which is the point of this logo, you don't
even care about the technical details.
Youre just another idiotic brainiac which comes out with one of thousand
useless ideologic ideas and you're enoying valuable developers which
irrelevant statements which arent proved either.
Tell me: Is some where in the "holy bible" described how the devil looks like?
I know theres not, because I read it.
When I read something, I learn it by heart.
I also read the Tora, the Talmud, the Koran, the communistic manifest and
"Mein Kampf"
Theres nowhere described that the devil has something like horns, hooves or
other things like that.
Thats all taken from the greek mythology.
From Pan to be more precious.
The god of fun and sex.
And this image was created by the catholic church.
Freely invented paintings, exactly like the image of the angels.
They got their wings by the innovation of some drunken priest abusing some
ministrants.
So please shut up, PLEASE.
Use another OS, for exemple Ubuntu - Linux for stupid beeings . if you think
that BSD will be drawn to hell.
Dont enoy me with your superstition.
I dont care in what you believe.
Stop spamming on this list, and I'll be happy.
Thx for your attention
