new-maintainer@debian.org dead?

Hi,

I sent an email to new-maintainer@... about a week ago, and
haven't received a response yet. It's only been a week, so I'm still
hoping to get a reply soon. However, I just found
http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/1999/07/msg01270.html, saying
that they're overworked (the OP didn't recieve a reply for over 2
months). That was in '99 tough. Is the situation still the same now
(and if so does the documentation need to be updated)?

They are usually quite busy. What did you ask them about?  I'm pretty
sure that 'wrong questions' is of a even lower priority than their real
tasks.

I did see them act this week on a mail I sent them.

I asked about alternative forms of identification for becoming a
Debian Maintainer (*not* a Debian Developer through the New Maintainer
process).

it has been discussed a couple of times on the public newmaint list.

You can probably find it in the archive.

The internet suggests you are british, so I think the easiest thing is
to meet up with some DD somewhere in england.
