hey guys, im new to the ODE and pretty new to coding/scripting (1 year
experience and currently learning python and c++).

im in my 3rd year at uni doing Bsc computer animation and for a 3rd
year project i would like to use the ODE and integrate it into an
autodesk maya plugin to speed up its rigid body dynamics system. could
anyone give me any information into understanding the ODE or give me a
push in the right direction on how to use it in maya. i belive i may
have to use PYODE, rather then the C/C++ ODE.

thanks for any help

I'm not familiar with PYODE so I can't help you out there. However, the
first step is to peruse the information at the wiki site
http://opende.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Main_Page, which I assume you
already know about.

The site has links to the ODE manual (which is unfortunately incomplete) and
several tutorials. Though of less use to a neophyte (that's you), there are
the various headers and CPP files in the library download, which can be
examined.

And, of course, you can post questions to this group.

Bruce
