non-ACPI kernel for 4.0?

Hi,

I've seen problems with ACPI on many systems using a 4.0_BETA2 snapshot,
after it was enabled by default. While I won't question if this was a good
move, I wonder if it would be possible to offer a non-ACPI kernel for
installation with 4.0?
