I've seen it implied that VLC can be used to do non-real-time
transcoding (from file A to file B), but I haven't bee able to find any
documentation on how to use it in that manner. Anyone tried it?
I'm hoping it may lead to different results than what I've seen from
ffmpeg and mencoder, though given that VLC is layered upon existing
transcoding libraries, it may not make a difference.
