I have started using ogr2ogr, which is great at converting ESRI shape files to Mapinfo TAB files.

However in my hands it does not seem to be so capable when converting GML to TAB files.
It seems to only produce a small number of the spatial objects in the source file.
However other non-spatial information is retained in the records.
Similarly converting the GML to shape file results in similar minimal spatial output.

What am I doing wrong?

Mike,

I think you would need to provide an example GML file and specifics of
what you are doing for anyone to provide meaningful help.

I will note that there are a number of limitations in the GML driver and
it's usefulness will vary depend on the structure of the input GML file alot.

Best regards,
