Saw the web site somewhat recently, Since I am in the process of supporting
OMAP3530 for some other boards (beagle/kwikbyte) it looks interesting.

At the current time however, I will not be purchasing any more development
boards/systems. Hardware budget is already spent for a while.

Has anyone done any work on porting OpenBSD to the Sheeva Plug device?
It's a Marvell 88F6000 CPU, ARM5 architecture. 512MB ram, 512MB flash,
USB, SDIO, gigabit ethernet, and the developers kit is only $99 in single
unit quantities and includes a LOT of documentation. I haven't bought one
yet, but I probably will be doing so shortly. I don't know to port
OpenBSD to it, though. If anyone has written a doc on such topics, please
let me know and I can start porting once I get the device.

wifi cards w/wpa2 wpa-psk support

Can the list confirm which wifi cards support wpa2 and/or wpa-psk (>=
4.4)
as I have tried planex gw-cf11x and am not able to get a belkin f5d7050
without success. So it would be great to hear about which of the several do
support and come recommended. Planning to use it with a zaurus C3200.

I don't see any problem with that license, you can always ask the user
to download the firmware as is done, IIRC, in NetBSD.

I discussed about the porting for IXP4xx with OpenBSD guys at AsiaBSDCon 2009.
They were afraid about the license for the NPE library. I couldn't explain the
licence there, sorry.

Look at the sys/arch/beagle directory for the initial omap support.

Currently gcc3 is being used, either natively or cross compiling on
OpenBSD i386 using Makefile.cross TARGET=armish
The compiler is not generating any armv7 specific code at this time.

There may be some problems that some of the new Cortex instructions are
not supported by the older binutils in use.

I will be getting a gumstix overo in a couple of weeks and will be working
on adding that to the beagle port.

This is something that I have been working on in my limited spare time recently
and is not complete yet.

some guys seem to work on a OMAP3 port of openbsd...
i have a gumstix overo board since end of last year and did some work myself
*porting newbie*
after compiling the kernel (bootstrap code) with the standard openbsd4.4 compiler my new kernel was looping
reading the assembler code that was generated for bootstrap showed that there were some very strange jump
instructions which caused the loop...
then i took the newest gcc with CORTEX support and the kernel bootstrap worked just fine
*hmmm*

- what gcc version are you guys using for compiling OMAP3 kernels?
- which processor type do you use when using the standard openbsd4.4 gcc (which has no CORTEX support)?
- any suggestions to clearify these loops?

Good, I'll be building shortly. In the meantime, I got some comments on my
question I'd asked separately about caching & round robin, so I'm investing some
time rereading a lot of old notes about the subject, so I can make more sense of
the answer I got. I've never coded anything in the vague area of VM, and it
wouldn't bother me any if I could fix that lack. I think I need to read, not
get tons of questions answered.

That's fantastic. I'd like to know if it's likely that (at the level I'm
currently at) if I might be able to contribute anything. Probably in either
case, I'd like to see what you changed, so I can see what kind of thing HAS to
change, and can review how it looks. Could I get a look at it (is it somewhere
I can access, like maybe in the cvs archive?)

Yes, the initial guxstix port was for the xscale, however that work has
stalled, a combination of available developer time and no access to hardware.
