	openoffice 3.1 crash by morellik :: Rate this Message: Reply to Author \| View Threaded \| Show Only this Message Dear all, tomorrow I did a "yum update" under my RHEL 5.1 and I installed the latest version of openoffice 3.1 When I try to run soffice the office splash appears and disappears immediately. If I try to run /opt/openoffice.org3/program/soffice.bin I receive the error: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'com::sun::star::uno::RuntimeException' I removed all .o* directory without solve the problem. Someone has some trick to solve the problem? Maybe you uninstall all openoffice.org* packages and pull the GoOo ones. I contend that it is some possible mixup with upstream/RH/GoOo packages on the same system. My OOffice history: in principle was OpenOffice 2.4 coming from RH packages, after, I removed OpenOffice 2.4 and using the GoOo repository I installed the 3.0 version that works fine, after that, during a "yum update" I saw that the 3.1 version was available, so I removed the 3.0 installation and I installed the 3.1 with the problem described. I removed and reinstalled more time 3.1 version with the same result. I don't know if could be an useful information, but installing the 3.1 version of the original OpenOffice I haven't the problem. Ok, now I remove the original OpenOffice so the command "rpm -qa\|grep -e office -e ooo" doesn't display nothing. I reinstall GoOo: yum install openoffice.org3.i586 openoffice.org3-base.i586 openoffice.org3-calc.i586 openoffice.org3-draw.i586 openoffice.org3-en-US.i586 openoffice.org3-impress.i586 openoffice.org3-math.i586 openoffice.org3-writer.i586 I have the same problem. I have the same packages and it starts well. Now, what is the locale of your system? If it is not English, would installation of all langpackages of your locale help? See http://en.opensuse.org/Bugs:OOo#How_to_get_strace_log for some hints how to get it. The instructions are for the openSUSE package. You need to use "/opt/openoffice.org3/program/soffice" instead of "ooffice" for the Go-oo build. BTW: We have one similar bug report, see http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=510752. The other user was able to start Go-oo as root.
